Synopsis

A discharged Army Ranger, Ben considers his job as a BDSM club security guard to be an excellent hobby. He’s never been tempted to join in. But everything changes when the notorious Mistress Anne inadvertently reveals the caring heart concealed beneath her Domme armor.

Now, he’s set his sights on the beautiful Shadowlands Mistress. Maybe he’d considered himself vanilla, but she can put her stiletto on his chest any day, any time. He’ll trust her delicate hands to hold his heart. And if she wants to whip his ass on the way to an outstanding climax, he’s just fine with that too.

Sure, he knows she likes “pretty boy” slaves. And he’s older. Craggy and rough. And six-five. Minor hindrances. The mission is a go.

My Review

This book is like a visit with old friends. You’ll enjoy it most if you read the series in order. 🙂

I have loved the character Ben from the very first time I met him in the first book of this series. I had never expected him to get a story of his own because he was a “vanilla” guard, and not a member or participant in any way in the BDSM club he helped to keep secure. Who would have known there is a submissive hiding in the big, tough teddy bear?

On top of that, I have gotten a new look at Anne, a character I have actually DISLIKED in the past. Make that STRONG dislike. She’s a Domme with a heart of pure gold, and more love surrounding her than she had ever expected to receive in her life. This is the first time I’ve read a BDSM book with a D as the h and an s as the H in a D/s relationship. I didn’t think I would have liked that combination, but I DO! Cherise Sinclair has expanded my reading tastes with this single book!

Do take my advice in reading this series in order. There are continuing threads of story woven throughout each book. The only one I can truly call a solid stand-alone is the first one. The first, however, is just a peek at what this series is all about. You need to read at least the first two to get a real feel for the characters. Then, enjoy the ride, and enjoy the taste of the many levels of BDSM presented in this series. I SO love the relationship in a D/s couple, the level of trust and communication it takes to maintain such a couple. Poor Ben and Anne get so swept up that communication becomes miscommunication, which is what much of the main thread in this book entails.

Uzuri is featured heavily in this book, which I hope means she’s next??? I’ve been wanting her to find her true love and Dom for what seems like forever, which is probably at most a few months in the books’ world. LOL! I can’t wait to see what is next for the Masters of the Shadowlands, and look forward to seeing Anne and Ben more!
