My Review

Imagine being a math geek born to an alphahole, violent father who was VP of a motorcycle club.

That’s Kill. He wasn’t born. He was MADE, mafia-style. I’m going to warn you right now. There is a CLIFFHANGER at the end of this book. There are a TON of questions left unanswered, and believe me I WANT TO KNOW! I hate cliffhangers, except these kind. Talented authors like Pepper Winters leave us begging for her next book. This is my first Pepper Winters book, so how do I know this? I know this because I’ve read a LOT of books, and I recognize talent when I see it.

Our h isn’t named at the beginning of the book, so I won’t spoil that for you. Just know that she is one strong woman, the strongest I’ve seen in a while. Her brain is even stronger, shielding her, using amnesia to protect her from remembering the violence and horror of her past. When she begins to remember, it’s a beautiful thing.

3% into this book, I found myself already covered in goosebumps and uncomfortable in my own skin. I love getting ANY kind of feels reading a book, and I’ve heard the author’s previous books are even darker. I’ll be getting to those as soon as I can. They’re already waiting on my Kindle. I trust I’ll love them more, if that’s possible. The darker the better.

I definitely would not call this book dark lite. It’s dark. Her previous books would be labeled darker than dark, if they must be labeled. I’ll be watching for the second book in this series. There are at least three characters that Kill trusts that I DO NOT trust. My heart aches for his eyes to be opened, and for him to finally get the life he wanted in the first place, without interference. I want answers, and I want vengeance for Kill. Is he going after the right people? We’ll see.
