My Review
I loved this story. I truly did. But (did you feel this but coming?) I stumbled through this book utterly distracted by Americans using Australian terminology, and that CIA jacket. You know…if Lili had that jacket say FBI, then problem solved. The CIA doesn’t go around announcing themselves with jackets. Oh, and they’re wrenches over here, not spanners.
I was also confused by the sudden appearance of Tommy and his whole backstory. What? Who? If he’d been included earlier and we’d gotten to know him, I would have stood up and cheered (for real) at his appearance at Elliott’s grandma’s home.
I’m going to move on and read Blood & Roses, Hell’s Kitchen, Cartel, and the other related books. I DO want more of this story, but I sincerely hope the author did more research on Americans, or had at least one beta reader from the U.S.
P.S. The final scene of Donny at the Skullz compound was priceless. And Julie’s parting shot to Donny? What is double priceless? Does that exist? 🙂
