Synopsis

Indigo is running, she has no other choice. She's done something bad, and the only way to escape it, is to flee her home, and her country. She sets out on a luxury Yacht, to take her to another country with her best friend Eric. But she runs into a problem.

The Yacht catches fire.

She ends up stranded in the ocean, terrified, and scared of the uncertain. Until they show up. The pirates. Terrified, Indigo and Eric have to face the reality that this might be the end for them. These are pirates, they are the criminals of the ocean. What chance have they got of surviving this nightmare?

Then she lays eyes on Hendrix. He's the Captain, he's gorgeous, rugged, and mean. He's planning on keeping her to repay his debt to another man, by selling her. Now Indigo has a crazy ex after her, as well as a pirate she can't seem to get out of her head.

Come on this heart wrenching, dark, angsty and dangerous adventure as two people so opposite, find something so beautiful.

My Review

ARRRRRRR! Warning: Lame pirate jokes inside …

“Why do pirates wear eye patches?
Because they can’t afford iPads!”

… and the deep, sexy laugh of a hot, built man who is a modern-day pirate! I was confused at the beginning of the book, but quickly caught on and am glad much of the book was spent inside the pirate ship and behind a waterfall. The main characters had sexual chemistry in abundance. VERY hot, sizzling encounters in this book.

“Our eyes remain locked and we share something there in that moment, something uncontaminated by the past pains and regrets. I close my eyes as my body swells with warmth and I climb closer to the edge.
‘Eyes, Indigo,’ he rasps. ‘Always on me.'”

I could have done without Eric entirely. I think I took away his man card at least 25 times, and he still wouldn’t leave the book. Sigh.

“Eric will bend to me no matter what I say.” ~ Indigo’s thought

Another warning: cliffhanger! If you don’t like cliffies, just skip the epilogue. It set up the story for the next book. Personally, I loved it! I’ve recently been embracing cliffhangers and find that I kind of like the feeling of torturous suspense.

This was my first Bella Jewel book, but I have others in my Kindle library that will quickly find their way to the top of my list very soon. I saw a link to the second book in this series. I don’t know if it’s available yet, but I don’t care. If it’s not available, there’s that lovely preorder one-click button.

I highly recommend this contemporary romance, especially if you’ve got a special place in your heart just for bad-boy pirates!

Note: This is a revised edition including editorial revisions.
