Divergent: One choice can transform you. Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times bestselling debut is a gripping dystopian tale of electrifying choices, powerful consequences, unexpected romance, and a deeply flawed "perfect society."
Insurgent: One choice can destroy you. Veronica Roth's second #1 New York Times bestseller continues the dystopian thrill ride. As war surges in the factions all around her, Tris attempts to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Allegiant: The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times bestselling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers.
This trilogy is incredible!
I read the three books over time as read-alouds to my family, mostly in preparation for the first two movies. As we finished the second book, there was no stopping. We NEEDED the rest of the story, and boy, did we get it.
I’ve spent the past hour sobbing, the words swimming on the page, trying to read aloud at the same time, my voice cracking. I needed to pause several times to gather myself enough to continue. There aren’t enough positive adjectives in the English language to express how I feel about these books. If you enjoy YA books even a teeny-tiny bit, you must read this trilogy. It has everything that makes a book wonderful. Everything.
I’m glad I didn’t read any spoilers or even book descriptions beyond the first one for just Divergent. It’s best to go in blind. Don’t allow anyone to spoil it for you.
I took the quiz at the end of the book, which says I would likely choose Amity, though I must be Divergent, because I had at least one answer from each of the five factions. 😉 Oh! Look at the rainbow! Where? *glowing smile*
