Gah! What a cliffhanger! Glad I had waited for all three books to be in my hot little hands…

I know these books have been released in pretty close succession, but cliffhangers are not my friend unless I have the full series or serial. Thank you, Athena, for the gift of all three at ONCE. Whew. I would not have liked this cliffie at all, but, in this case, I LOVE IT!

I really like the author’s take on shifters. Some of them have figured out how to shift back to their human form with clothing the same color as their fur, while other unfortunate shifters are left starkers. LOL!

MINE. I love this word in a shifter book. The claiming ritual the alpha males does gets me both in the heart and in the gut. SO hot. I have NO idea how this is going to become a menage with that kind of bond in place. Make me believe it, Athena! I really like that the author used dual POV to let us inside the frightened female AND the alpha shifter. I can’t wait until they REALLY start talking with each other. The next book is called Proven. I’m hoping that’s how she is proven to be loyal, with good, old-fashioned talking, and maybe some hot sex. 😉

Proven (Dawnclaw Alphas #2)

The suspense is built in the first book, and now we’re getting some real HEAT!

Well! I didn’t see THAT coming. I can’t tell you what THAT is, because spoilers suck. Just know, you likely won’t see it coming, and it’s a fun surprise. 😉

There’s a whole lot more sexy in this book, but with all the MINE stuff going on, I haven’t a clue how this could become a menage. I guess we’ll find out in the third installment!

The mild cliffhanger has me wanting to dive right back in, so I’ll see you later with a better review on the third book. LOL!

Chosen (Dawnclaw Alphas #3)

Athena’s writing is getting better with every book she writes!

There was action, a surprising twist, and we finally get that menage we had been promised. 😉 She pulls that off, another nice surprise. Poly-bonded mates are possible? LOL!

One little thing had made me stumble. Who the heck is Nicholas, I had caught myself thinking. Then I had realized the author meant Nathaniel. Oops! 🙂

Now let’s talk about this epilogue. An epilogue is meant to bring CLOSURE to a piece of writing, which in this case is a three-part serial. An epilogue is NOT meant to leave us hanging, wanting more story! I’m all for alternate styles of endings, but don’t call it an epilogue. Call it Chapter Twelve. I don’t need a happily ever after to be satisfied with the story. I LOVE the ending. It’s been left wide open to continue the story or to do a prequel, or any number of options. Bravo, Athena, on the clever ending! I’m just going to call it Chapter Twelve, if you don’t mind. Heehee…

SO. It’s the end of the story. OR IS IT??? 😉 If you like yourself some alpha shifters, steamy sex, and a suspenseful story, you’ll like these books, too. Fun reading at a great price! Enjoy!
