Synopsis
Rand Bishop’s dreams of Olympic gold were shattered years ago but he’s left that all behind, settling into a new career and lifestyle that would make any man jealous. While he may not be competitively racing down the ski slopes anymore, he’s just as happy getting his rocks off as a Fantasy Maker for The Silo.
He’s good at what he does.
Damn good. But while life couldn’t be better for Rand, it seems to be falling apart for Catherine Lyons Vaughn, the dark haired, brown-eyed beauty that has captivated an entire sex club.
Having spent years degrading herself on her husband’s whim and now left destitute after his death, Catherine has hit rock bottom. With nothing but her body to peddle, Catherine is merely trying to figure out how to survive in a harsh, cruel world. Lucky for her, Rand has taken her under his tattooed wing, and he’s determined to give her a safe life where she can be the woman she was always meant to be.
Now all Catherine has to do is believe she deserves the chance.
My Review
Cat is THE BEST Sawyer Bennett heroine yet!
This series of books may be based on the men at The Wicked Horse, but I am all about Catherine “Cat” Lyons in this book! Everyone who knows Cat, knows she is strong, resilient, and SO worthy. Everyone, that is, except Cat herself.
This is yet another Sawyer Bennett book that rips tears from me at unexpected moments. She consistently writes things in such a way that my eyes fill with tears. I have to remove my glasses, splash water on my face, and calm the heck down before I can pick my Kindle back up to read more. This is the most I have cried through a book, well, since…umm…yesterday when I read the 2nd Wicked Horse book.
I love how this author uses her words to create suspense and fear. I had been shaking and flipping pages furiously fast to see what would be next.
Rand. What can I say about this lovely man? I really, really like him, but not until about 30% into the book. I felt at the beginning, he had been described as a white knight over and over again, yet I hadn’t really seen him do anything that special yet. It took a bit, but now I see the hero he is meant to be.
This book has a non-traditional epilogue, a sneak peek at the next book rather than a furthering of the happily ever after of the current book. The story is wrapped up firmly before this, but skip the epilogue unless you want a taste of the next book in the series. The epilogue of book two is also the prologue of book three. See what she did there? It’s not full of spoilers. It’s more of an extended blurb.
