“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

The conclusion to the Surrender Series by Priscilla West.

No one is who they seem to be.

Kristen let Vincent into her heart because he seemed so different from everyone in her conservative world of wealth management. She thought they shared something special, but when she realizes that Vincent has been playing her the entire time, her heart is crushed.

As Kristen’s relationship with Vincent reaches a crisis point, a man from Kristen’s past returns looking for a second chance. Is her ex-boyfriend really looking for redemption or is his goal something more sinister?

Kristen struggles to hold herself together, until she discovers a revelation that will change everything.

My Review

I truly enjoyed this book…

…and by book I mean the full trilogy, and whether or not the rating stars show that. By no means is each novella-length installment worth three bucks and the entire story, which should have been all-in-one for three dollars or less is a ridiculous nine dollars. I don’t pay that for better authors (don’t compare this one to HM Ward) and am thankful I received these installments for free. *whispers to author* 99 cents would be more appropriate.

That said and out of my system, I did enjoy this piece of the story. It was again predictable, like the ALL CAPS word that sent her running in the last installment being a misunderstanding and the hugely obvious “surprise” pregnancy clues. Like I said, I enjoyed it, BUT…

I think this would have been better with more crazy sex. Wait, was there any in this installment? I finished it last night and am writing the morning after. Huh. If there was, it was forgettable. The only “action” I remember was violent.

Using Borderline Personality Disorder for an excuse was pretty lame. If the ex had actually been getting help for his illness the previous two years, he would be doing better. He apparently had no help, but someone with the impulsive BPD would have attacked a lot sooner. There is no stopping those impulses, and no way would he hold back for two years, considering the way he kept track of her. Put the ex six months or less in the past of the über-fast H/h relationship, and I might have believed it.

2.5 disappointed stars
